How To Use Church Websites

By Shannon Behan

A church may find that be having church websites that they can stay in contact with their members as well as potential members. It can be used to inform the public about services that are coming up. It can also be used to save the time of calling all of the members by passing any important information to them at one time on the website.

You website will want to include basic information about your church. You will want to have service times, as well as the address listed. You may also want to list phone numbers and names of people along with their descriptions in the church for people to contact with further questions.

Listing a few of the beliefs of your religion is also advised. You do not need to be too detailed, however letting people know what your main doctrine is will be helpful if they are trying to decide where to go for services. You can also list what sets you apart from other religions as well.

Any special programs that you offer should also be listed. If you have special programs for children you will want to make sure that you list them. Many times parents with small children may be looking for nursery services while services are going on.

You may also wish to have a calender of events listed on your site as well. You can use this as a way to keep members current of events that are going on. It can also be used as a way to entice potential visitors of things that they may find interesting. Many times it will be a helpful reminder to all.

Many churches also participate in programs that help the local community. If your church offers assistance in the form of a food pantry or assists with utilities, you may want to list that also. Many people look for resources with these items and this will give them a option to go to for assistance.
