Renewable Energy - Why Many Business Sector Try to Consider It?

By Matt Thompson

A solution to the world's energy crisis is alternative energy, the using of renewable energy resources such as solar and wind power. What most electrical companies and related energy-providing establishment currently source out energy powered by fossil fuels that have been dwindling in amount for the past centuries and have been predicted to deplete completely in the near future. Companies who heavily depend on non-renewable energy resources may find themselves in a tight fix in the future as the energy crisis goes to an all-time high.

This is why there is a movement perpetuated by various organizations and their public relations team to urge a shift in paradigm of the business sector, strongly supporting and advocating them to look into renewable energy, become aware of greenhouse emissions and carbon foot printing, as well as getting into smart-grid programs for energy efficiency and all other environmental technology. Several new electrical companies all over the world including EVARCO of Papua New Guinea, HECO of Hawaii, Green Mountain Energy of Texas, Solarco of the Republic of the Philippines, and Aquamarine Power of Scotland have sprung to provide and supply renewable energy to their respective countries, challenging fossil-fuel dependent electrical companies to step up to the plate. A venture into the emerging solar, wind and wave energy proves to have been essential in reviving the faith of pro-green consumer's scepticism about electronic companies and the technical viability of practical application of renewable energy.

However, in the case of Smart Grid, a new development in providing centralized control to deliver and enable energy efficiency for consumers, there have been significant efforts done by various organizations sponsoring and supporting smart grid public relations in education both the commercial and non-commercial business sectors about reducing energy consumption.

But any company who has tried their hand at utilizing green PR and promotion knows that it's a tough call to convey the message to businesses who are finding the transition to fossil fuel dependency and into renewable energy, even with all the benefits involved of a smarter energy source from the latter.

Environmental issues are real, and companies must consider them in their communication process due to the fact that these issues involve them. The uncertainty of energy grows more each day. Lawmakers and lobbyists are presenting laws and regulations to define procedures on revving up renewable energy sources and environment-friendly practices. These directives will hopefully help the energy and other business sectors in hastening their programmes for environment protection.
