The Negative Effect Of Pollution From Industry And How To Solve It

By Gnifrus Urquart

Today pollution from industry is becoming more of a problem around the world. Due to the expansion of technology, factories are producing more toxic waste. In media and governmental circles people are looking at ways to combat this serious problem. In environmental organizations measures are being taken to deal with the issue.

A lot of toxic waste comes from industrial plants and factories. Toxic chemicals and gasses are emitted into the atmosphere. Therefore the environment and people who are staying near the factories are harmed. Waste from factories is pumped into rivers and toxic waste is dumped on eco-sensitive areas. Faunae and flora, as well as humans, are harmed.

Acid rain is another difficult problem caused by factory pollution. This is a type of rain that contains acidic elements that cause damage to stone buildings and plant life. When industrial plants release sulfur and nitrogen into the air, it is carried by the wind into the atmosphere where rain is formed. Acid rain can pollute rivers and lakes, and kill fish that live there.

Another pressing problem in media and governmental organizations is how to deal with global warming. Global warming happens when factories use coal to generate electricity. They release carbon as monoxide gas into the air. This damages the ozone layer and causes the suns rays to be trapped inside, heating the earth and damaging the environment.

Nuclear waste is another major problem for authorities. In some countries or cities, nuclear power is used. Nuclear waste is highly toxic and needs to be handled with great care. In most countries where nuclear power is used, the waste is stored in reactors. However, the carbon emissions from nuclear power stations still cause great damage to the surrounding area.

Different approaches are being used to try and solve these problems. The media is being used to try and create awareness of environmental problems. Greater safety methods and increased eco-friendly methods of production are being given as possible solutions within the factory environment. It is up to the owners of factories to implement these measures.

Moves are being made to combat the effect of pollution from industry on the environment. Certain chemicals and poisons such as lead have been banned from use in factories. Factories are being encouraged to run on non-harmful materials such as wind and solar power. It is hoped that some of these measures will lead to cleaner and safer environments for all.
