The Dark Side of Technology

By Don Juan

We have seen ads almost everywhere, created by telecommunications businesses as well as their team associated with telecom PR team that keeps on motivating us in order to phone our love ones, buddies and people that we haven't been in contact with for almost half a decade, most of these tend to be using about the single idea that we have to constantly talk regardless of what.

Today's culture when it comes to communication has evolved from simple one-one-one communication style to a chaotic and problem-laden system. Telecommunications today makes it even worse, with monotone answering machine simply recording your voice instead of having to truly talk with the one you were meaning to call. It is even funny how technology assists you to seem like someone is talking to themselves with their blue tooth headset and end up looking like they are total loonies.

Another idea about today's modes of communication is that advanced telephones, mobile phones, as well as VOIP phones have become a symbol of the egalitarian and elitist class. High tech public relations are in a rush to address the decrease this gap, and telecommunications companies are trying to resolve the inequality of communication technology. Nowadays the recent innovations have new features that offer better advantages to those who can afford it. It used to be that phones are just simple mediums to talk and send a message or two, but now the playing field when it comes to phone features is not level, and only the privilege few get to acquire them, a fact that most public relations group avoid saying.

Communication technology has made a lot of things possible, including access to unlimited knowledge from the Internet, corresponding despite the distance, as well as multitasking. But the underlying negative effect from all these advances have also proved that the quality of communication and that a person's focus would be divided into how many things he or she is doing at the same time, thereby eliminating the value of an undivided attention. Another negative idea about this is there is a significant decrease in face-to-face interaction and that it promotes social isolation. There are a lot of things to say about how being social is part of the human psyche and a good amount of real time communication and socializing is the way to a healthy personality.

However despite these whole unfavorable stances regarding technological improvements with regard to communication, there's nevertheless a powerful marketplace for communication devices such as cell phones, PDA, personal tablets as well as computer systems.
